Cookie, as a kid, was a bit standoffish, not coming up for attention when the other kids did. She didn’t even let us know when she was kidding and had her daughter born and dried off before we realized. So, it was a surprise when she took to the milking routine with such enthusiasm. She even comes up to us for extra attention (and treats) now. We are thrilled with her and enjoy giving her attention now that she appreciates it.
The "madeleine" is a traditional small cake or cookie from Commercy, France, so since this sweet little girl's mom is named Madeleine we couldn't resist naming her after that dessert.
Cookie is growing well and is one of the ringleaders of our little kid herd. She is a lovely doeling with lots of promise.

Cookie needed hock braces for a few days after she was born, probably because her 3 brothers crowded her by taking up too much room in the uterus.
Don't need those braces anymore!!
